As per the twelfth plan guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC), the establishment of IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell) in colleges has been made mandatory.
Maintaining constant awareness towards quality in the college is extremely important.
The formation of IQAC is based on the recognition that through this cell, a culture of quality assurance can be ensured in colleges.
IQAC must make organized efforts through its operational system to maintain flexibility according to the diverse needs of its stakeholders (students).
Through this cell, activities aimed at enhancing quality in the college will be conducted.
This cell must make organized efforts to advance the educational quality of the college.
This cell will not only function as a mere record-keeping body like other structural committees previously operating in colleges but will be an integral and participatory part of the institution.
Through its operational power, this cell will implement strategies and systems to eliminate obstacles to improving quality and create an appropriate environment for establishing quality.
